Requirements for RN Post-Master’s students

Degree Requirements


Health Systems Leader Doctor of Nursing Practice

The Doctor of Nursing Practice program requires completion of a minimum of 48 quarter credit hours (dependent upon entering academic preparation) and a combined minimum total of 1000 supervised academic clinical hours between the master’s and doctoral programs. The program of study includes up to 17 credits per quarter over 6 to 16 quarters. Variations from this plan will be considered on an individual basis.

  • DNP Internship 

Program Synthesis


  • DNP Project Presentation 
  • ​E-Portfolio
  • 1000 Clinical/Internship hours (students may apply up to 500 clinical hours from their master’s degree)

Minimum credits required for degree (48)


Notes:


  1.  All students completing the DNP must have completed the equivalent of 90 quarter credits beyond the bachelor’s degree. 36 credits which apply toward the Doctoral degree must be completed in residence at Seattle University. 

  2.  B- is the minimum passing grade for all 6000-level courses.
