Requirements

In order to earn the Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree with a major in Finance, students must complete a minimum of 180 quarter credits with a cumulative and major/program grade point average of 2.25, including the following:

I. Core Curriculum Requirements

Module I: Engaging Academic Inquiry

UCOR 1100 - Academic Writing Seminar
UCOR 1200 - Quantitative Reasoning (satisfied in major)
UCOR 1300 - Creative Expression and Interpretation
UCOR 1400 - Inquiry Seminar in the Humanities
UCOR 1600 - Inquiry Seminar in the Social Sciences
UCOR 1800 - Inquiry Seminar in the Natural Sciences (or BIOL 1610/1611, 2200, CHEM 1500/1501, PHYS 1050/1051, 1210/1211)

Module II: Engaging Jesuit Traditions

II. Albers Business Foundation Requirements:*

82 credits, including:

Calculus, choose one of the following two courses:

25 credits, including:

FINC 3420 - Intermediate Corporate Finance
FINC 3430 - Financial Institutions and Markets
FINC 3440 - Investments
FINC Electives (10)
Choose from upper-division finance courses

NOTE:

Students are advised to take the two finance major electives from FINC 4410 , FINC 4450 , FINC 4460 , or FINC 4480 if they plan to pursue a career in corporate finance; or from FINC 4450 , FINC 4460 , FINC 4510 , or FINC 4520 if they plan to pursue a career in investments. Internships and independent studies may not satisfy a major requirement.
