Certificate in Health Informatics and Technology

This certificate program will be available to all nurses as well as non-nurses who are seeking the skills to manage design, implementation and evaluation of simple to complex health informatics systems and other technologies across a variety of health care organizations. Students will have content in managing change, quality improvement, health care finance and understanding the roles of other health care professionals. A differentiating characteristic for certificate holders from Seattle University is the acquisition of skills in using simulation to design effective educational experiences for health professionals.  In addition, students will have the opportunity to complete a practicum course in the use of methodologies in simulation and other technologies to enhance learning. There are five 3-credit required courses for a total of 15 credit hours.

Admissions Requirements


  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
