Marine and Conservation Biology, BS

Requirements


In order to earn the bachelor of science with a major in marine and conservation biology degree, students must complete a minimum of 180 quarter credits with a cumulative and major/program grade point average of 2.00, including the following:

 62 credits in natural sciences, social sciences, or humanities, including:

Mathematics, choose one of the following two courses:


 

Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Humanities


 

Natural Sciences Elective (5 credits)


Elective in natural sciences connected to marine and conservation science, including BIOL 2200  or above, CHEM 2000-level or above, PHYS 2000-level or above, ENSC 3000-level or above, or another course approved by department.

Candidacy


Candidacy is required in order to apply an education abroad research experience towards biology senior synthesis credit. Candidacy is achieved by successfully completing the following: BIOL 1610 /1611 , 1620 /1621 , 1630 /1631 , and CHEM 1520 /1521 , all with C- or better;  BIOL 2600 , 2700 , 3650 , 3660 , and/or 3500  with a C or better; and a minimum biology major grade point average of 2.80.
