PHYS 2080 - Introduction to Quantum Physics

4 credit hours
An introduction to quantum physics for students of science and engineering. Topics covered include evidence for the quantization of light, matter, and energy; the wave nature of matter; the Bohr model of the atom; wave-particle duality; the uncertainty principle; the Schrödinger equation and its applications; the Pauli exclusion principle, and selected applications in atomic, nuclear, and solid state physics.

Prerequisite Course(s): PHYS 1230 and MATH 2330
