DATA 5000 - Fundamentals of Data Analysis3 credit hours Working with data is increasingly becoming an important skill in a variety of fields. In the social sciences, business, leadership and management, journalism, engineering, and many other fields, the ability to understand, analyze, and summarize data can be a valuable skillset for employees. In this course, you will be introduced to the fundamental skills necessary to incorporate data analysis into your work. You will learn how to create appropriate graphs from data, how to fit regression models to data, and how to test hypotheses to demonstrate statistical significance of results. It will include an introduction to programming in the statistical language R. This course assumes no prior experience in statistics or programming. Students from all graduate programs at Seattle U are invited to take this course.
