PSYC 5155 - Psychotherapy Theory & Practice: Existential-Integrative Approaches3 credit hours This course reviews the central theories and current practices in psychotherapy through overarching framework of relational-existential psychology. Students gain a pluralistic perspective and appreciation for how different theoretical lenses can be applied to particular clinical issues and populations. We will explore how the we might integrate exisential approaches with various other theories such as such as psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, multicultural, feminist, and trauma-informed care. The class culminates in presenting on a fictional case study through the integrative theoretical lens of the student’s choosing.
