NURS 6513 - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Across the Lifespan: Theory2 credit hours This course teaches basic knowledge and skills in conducting cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) with individuals across the lifespan. Research evidence and indications for CBT are examined for specific clinical populations. Students learn principles and approaches of CBT during the theory component of the course, and practice skills and techniques in the laboratory setting. The role of the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) in conducting CBT is explored.
