NURS 5121 - Promoting Mental Health: Theory3 credit hours The focus of this course is holistic nursing care that promotes health, prevents disease, reduces disability, and supports recovery for individuals of various developmental stages and sociocultural backgrounds who have alterations in mental health. Knowledge and research evidence from the biological and social sciences, genetics and genomics, pharmacology, humanities, and nursing are enlisted in the study of mental disorders, their care and treatment, and the impact of these disorders on the quality of life for individuals, families, and communities.
