NURS 6212 - Midwifery History and Professional Issues

2 credit hours
Focuses on the history of midwifery and emerging professional role of midwives and nurse-midwives as licensed, certified and doctorally prepared health care professionals. Knowledge of skills for becoming leaders in maternal child health clinical care, health system design, and advocacy for vulnerable populations will be emphasized. Registration restrictions may be bypassed by the department with permission of instructor.
