NURS 5008 - Nursing Care of Children: Clinical3 credit hours Focuses on nursing management, physiological, and psychosocial factors influencing altered health in infants, children, and adolescents. An integrated approach to nursing therapies for promoting wellness and restoring health across the spectrum of childhood is explored. Emphasis is placed on developmentally appropriate care. Students have an opportunity through clinical practice to apply risk reduction, disease prevention, and nursing management to infants and children with predictable health problems in pediatric care settings. Emphasized is an ecological approach to care of children in the contexts of families and communities. Registration restrictions may be bypassed by the department with permission of instructor.
