MCFT 5750 - Systems of Trauma Treatment

Students examine the manifestation of trauma in individual, relational, and community systems. Utilizing evidence-based practice and systems theories and models, students practice methods of assessment and intervention for the treatment of trauma. Students discuss the impact of trauma on their selves as holistic beings and document methods of self-care. Topics include: post-traumatic stress disorder, child abuse and neglect, elder abuse and neglect, intimate partner violence, sexual abuse, illness, grief, loss, and resilience.
