MCFT 5580 - Clinical IV

The clinical sequence provides experience and training in couples and family therapy. Students will be at a clinical site 14-18 hours per week as they advance through four quarters of training. By the end of the clinical sequence, students are required to accumulate a total of 400 clinical contact hours, 200 of which must be relational hours. In addition to face-to-face client contact and other onsite clinical work, students will meet at least one hour a week in individual supervision with a State or AAMFT Approved Supervisor. Class time will be composed of three hours of weekly faculty led group supervision with an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and 8 or fewer students. Students will deepen their knowledge and skills related to justice-oriented systemic treatment and ethical care.Clinical IV culminates with an oral and written capstone project. Students must apply for admission to the clinical experience through the Couples and Family Therapy program (orientation required).
