MCFT 5550 - Clinical I

The clinical sequence provides experience and training in couples and family therapy. Students will be at a clinical site 14-18 hours per week as they advance through four quarters of training. By the end of the clinical sequence, students are required to accumulate a total of 400 clinical contact hours, 200 of which must be relational hours. In addition to face-to-face client contact and other onsite clinical work, students will meet at least one hour a week in individual supervision with a State or AAMFT Approved Supervisor. Class time will be composed of three hours of weekly faculty led group supervision with an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and 8 or fewer students. Students will deepen their knowledge and skills related to justice-oriented systemic treatment and ethical care. Students must apply for admission to the clinical experience through the Couples and Family Therapy program (orientation required).
