ART 3000 - Zines: Collage/Xerox/Mail Art

Class is open to and encouraging any and all media, including drawing, painting, photography, graphic arts, and also creative writing. Explores collage, mixed-media mail art, and also xerox as a democratic means of making multiples. Zines are a form for creating rich, extended meaning through the possibilities held by sequencing multiple pages, be they graphic adn/or textual. The focus will be on analog methods, though computers are welcomed as a means towards an end. One of the objectives is to develop the habit of incorporating creativity into the everday through small artistic gestures which have the possibility of reaching the people in our lives rather than sitting on hard-drives or stashed away under our beds.
