PUBM 5430 - Research Design3 credit hours This course is a theoretical and practical introduction to social science research methods as applied to public administration. Specifically students will learn about 1. how public administrators, policy actors and managers can pose research questions to empirically investigate issues and methodologies involved in the collection of such evidence; 2. what methodologies to use for the collection of qualitative and quantitative data; 3. the issues of research ethics; and 4. how to apply evidence for the purpose of making decisions in public organizations. Required.
