SPED 5400 - Introduction to Disability, Language and Literacy

An introduction to special education including an overview of historical/legal foundations, individualized educational plans, and exceptionalities in childhood. An emphasis will be placed on understanding the nature of learning disorders (i.e., learning disabilities, speech/language disor-ders, and mental retardation
