CEEGR 5150 - Continuum Mechanics4 credit hours Introduction to continuum-based mechanics of solid deformable bodies. Topics include: 1) Kinematics of deformation, 2) Divergence theorem, 3) Conservation of mass, 4) Energy principles 5) 2D/3D elastic, viscous and plastic material models, and 6) nonlinear elastic solids (if time permits).This is a fully online course. Students will need a reliable internet connection and a computer capable of recording and viewing audio and video and access to a web-based live meeting application. It is expected that students are proficient in the use of Seattle University’s Learning Management System, CANVAS. Registration restrictions may be bypassed by the department with permission of instructor.
