STMC 5601 - Clinical Extension

The clinical sequence provides basic experience and training in couples and family therapy. Students will be at a clinical site 14-18 hours per week as they advance through six quarters of training. In addition to face-to-face client contact and other onsite clinical work, students will meet at least one hour a week in individual supervision with a State or AAMFT Approved Supervisor. Class time will be composed of weekly faculty led group supervision with an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and 8 or fewer students. This class is an extension of the clinical sequence and its requirements. The course is intended for students who, after enrolling inSTMC5600, have not accumulated a total of 500 clinical contact hours, 200 of which must be relational hours. Course enrollment requires approval of the director.
