MATH 120 - Precalculus: Algebra5 A study of functions including polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions; composite and inverse functions; theory of polynomial equations; other selected topics. Provides review and extension of basic algebraic methods for solving equations and inequalities. Problem solving and mathematical writing are emphasized as well as algebraic skill. Graphing calculator required. Credit not granted for both MATH 118 and 120. Core mathematics option. Prerequisite: a grade of C- or better in MATH 110, or a satisfactory score on SAT or ACT or the Mathematics Placement Exam. (fall, winter, spring)
