DICE 3000 - Introduction to Digital Cultures5 credit hours This course is an introduction to the major. Students are familiarized with vocabulary and interdisciplinary methods useful to the analysis of digital technologies’ intersections and impacts on the human experience. Students learn about current topics (such as technological determinism, the digital divide, and participatory culture) and gain a foundational understanding of digital rhetoric, literary analysis, and cultural studies. Students also study key concepts related to digital spaces and artifacts and construct their Digital Cultures e-portfolios. This course must be taken the first quarter of admission.
