ARTH 3500 - Art Since 19455 credit hours Formerly - ART 310 Focuses on the major practices that challenged the legacy of European modernism and lead the way to new conceptions of art in the present moment. Explores styles and issues such as abstract expressionism, pop art, minimalism, land art, conceptualism, site-specificity, photography and identity politics, the postmodern turn and art in the era of globalization. Also examines significant debates in art criticism that continue to frame the discussion of art today. Requisites may be bypassed by the department with permission of instructor.
