COUN 5800 - Psychopharmacology for Counselors

3 credit hours
This course covers the basic principles of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.  In addition pharmacology of medications of abuse, pharmacology for special populations (child and adult as well as suicidal, addictive and violent patients), and a synthesis of psychopharmacology and mental health counseling in the care of person with mental illness. Registration restrictions may be bypassed by the department with permission of instructor.
