STMM 5380 - Christian Scriptures: Letters

This course is designed to equip students with a fundamental knowledge of the Letters, epistolary and homiletic documents, from the Christian Scriptures: 1 Thessalonians, 1 & 2 Corinthians, Philippians, Philemon, Galatians, Romans, Colossians, Ephesians, 2 Thessalonians, Hebrews, James, 1 Peter, 1-2-3 John, Jude, 1 & 2 Timothy, Titus and 2 Peter. These documents are studied in light of their historical, literary and theological milieu. This course also surveys some major interpretive methods in biblical criticism to provide both a framework for the study of the Christian Scriptures and some hermeneutical tools for preaching and teaching their messages.
