COUN 5610 - Child and Adolescent Counseling

3 to 4 credit hours
Formerly - COUN 561
Focuses on various counseling theories and techniques as they apply to children and adolescents. The course uses a risk-resilience framework for conceptualizing the needs of young clients and the delivery of counseling services. In addition, the course will address adolescent chemical dependency assessment, treatment, and the impact of developmental delay. Non-majors can take this course for 3 credits and not participate in the addiction focused portion.

Prerequisite Course: for Counseling majors: COUN 5100, COUN 5110; for School Psychology majors: SPSY 5020
