THRS 4400 - Themes and Problems in the Study of Religion

5 credit hours
This is an advanced course in the Comparative Religion specialization. Students who enroll in this specialization will take basic courses on the methodology of religious studies and study the sacred texts of world religions in preparation for this course. This advanced course will strengthen the students’ understanding of religious pluralism which is central to U.S. history and culture. The course will focus on problems in the study of religion related to  gender and race and seek to empower students to engage in self-reflection and meaningful action towards the Jesuit value of justice and common good.
