PSYC 4400 - Biological Basis of Addiction5 credit hours This course is designed to provide a thorough investigation into the neural circuitry underlying drug addiction and addictive behaviors. We will explore the multiple scientific fields and research methodologies involved in the study of addiction with an appreciation for the treatment of the whole-person through a biopsychosocial approach. This course has been developed to help inform individuals who have encountered addiction in their lives, have experience with friends and family who have struggled with addiction, or are interested in pursuing a career in the field. Requisites may be bypassed by the department with permission of instructor.
