EVST 2200 - Principles of Ecology5 credit hours Formerly - EVST 220 The study of the basic structure and function of natural ecosystem: energy flow and nutrient cycling. Exploration of the earth’s major biomes and their importance to human existence. Case studies of human impacts on ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest and the practical application of ecological theory to ecosystem restoration. Four lecture/discussion hours, three laboratory hours per week; one weekend field trip.
