PSYC 4830 - Multi-cultural Psychology: Vietnam and Vietnamese-Americans3 to 5 credit hours Formerly - PSYC 483 In this course, students examine Vietnamese and Vietnamese-Americans through their religions in their cultural context. About half of Vietnamese-Americans are Buddhists, and a third, Catholics. Students draw from recent findings in cross-cultural psychology, and study their religions both in theory and in the way the Vietnamese practice them. The course can be taken as a 3 credit lecture-only course or as a 5 credit course including field work. Requisites may be bypassed by the department with permission of instructor.
