NURS 3190 - Promoting the Health of Older Adults - Theory

2 credit hours
Focus on the application of nursing process utilizing knowledge gained of aging theories, geriatric syndromes, and the impact of dementia on the function and health of older adults living in various community settings. Students will translate findings obtained from the use of valid and reliable assessment tools while communicating, interviewing, and assessing older adults. Clinical experiences will include consideration of evidence based practice and provision of direct care to the older adult.
