CISS 2500 - Global Poverty5 credit hours Formerly - CISS 250 This course studies the phenomenon of global poverty through the discipline of international politics and policy. We will investigate the definitions and measures of poverty, its causes, and potential solutions. The course explores several ongoing and important debates affecting societies around the world - such as the impact of globalization, environmental change, health disparities, and women’s rights - to determine their involvement in persistent poverty.
