SOCW 5820 - Social Justice and Juvenile Justice

3 credits hours
Focusing on juvenile crime, delinquency and justice, this course addresses the laws, theories and social work practice interventions with this population. The content of causation, historical and contemporary juvenile justice policies and laws, and models of prevention, intervention, suppression treatment and restorative justice will be interconnected with the impacts of social and economic welfare policies. We will look at this issue through the lenses of micro, mezzo and macro systems. Elective.
