CEEGR 5140 - Performance-Based Design

Performance-Based Earthquake Engineering theory and how it is realized in industry practices. Students will be exposed to the basics of probabilistic seismic hazard analysis, engage in discussions about cost-effective risk management, establishing system and component performance criteria, and how these factors contribute to loss estimates for buildings or entire building portfolios.
