STML 5160 - Engaging Society with Gospel Values

3 credit hours
This course will explore the complex relationship of spiritual and religious values in the common life of the United States, particularly the sociological and historical patterns of so-called “civil religion.” The course will also explore the social and cultural changes that are dramatically altering the relationship of religious and spiritual values in the public commons. Students will engage leaders of multiple agencies and organizations in an exploration of how pastoral leaders collaborate for adaptive change based on deep values. Students will devise strategies for integrating their leadership goals within their organizations toward impacting the public square. Majors Only.
