STMC 5730 - Integrative Diagnosis in Pastoral Counseling

3 credit hours
Formerly - STMC 573
This course helps students integrate theology/spirituality/pastoral counseling with mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. Attention will be paid to the formation and the identity of the student as a pastoral counselor. This integration course will start in the fall and will span three quarters. Students will identify as a cohort of learners, creating a safe environment to discuss and process clinical and self-of-the therapist issues as they arise. This course will fill the formation requirement for the certificate program, and will address significant items related to diagnosis/assessment, specifically as they relate to pastoral counseling. Majors only.
