STMC 5700 - Systemic Treatment of Addiction and Abuse

This course provides an overview of the systemic treatment of addiction and abuse. The focus is on providing the therapists and other care professionals the background and tools needed to recognize and begin the treatment of addiction and abuse in a systemic context. Etiology, assessment, diagnosis, drug classification, and treatment models will be explored. Special topics, such as gambling, love, sex, and food addictions will be addressed.
