ANTH 3520 - Contemporary Japanese Society5 credit hours Formerly - ANTH 342 This course is a non-specialized introduction to the ways that people in Japan live today. We will examine and discuss modern Japanese society by focusing upon the major social institutions and practices that both (re) produce and compose the lives and worlds of Japan’s citizens. This will include a close examination of Japanese families, educational environments, workplaces and communities.
