STML 5540 - Interpersonal Communication Skills

Students participate in practicing and reviewing growth in demonstrating increasingly complex skills related to listening, paraphrasing, summarizing, and evidencing compassionate listening to the other. In addition students learn to monitor their own “trigger” points and discover ways to refine their own coping skills while engaging others. The course introduces practices of reflective leadership that include initial considerations of self-care, leadership skills, and conflict negotiation.
