THRS 331 - Jewish Faith and Life

Examination of monotheism, covenant, morality and ethics as law, halacha (an intricate system of law governing the daily life of the individual), the lifecycle from birth to death, Sabbath and holidays, kosher dietary laws, messiah and messianism, theological Zionism, political Zionism, and the modern Jewish state of Israel. Analysis of antisemitism as a major factor in the development of Judaism and the Jewish psyche. WR5
