SOCL 402 - Sociological Theory

An overview of both classical and contemporary theory with special emphasis on conceptualization of theoretical problems, comparison of theoretical approaches and limitations of given theoretical perspectives. Central sociological themes: the transition from traditional to modern society, the relation of ideas to social structure and the focus of identity in post-modern society will be discussed. Required of all SOCL majors.5
