INST 364 - Postcolonial Studies


Examines the cultural, social, political and economic impact of 19th century European imperialism and 20th century decolonization with a particular emphasis on South Asia and Africa. Students read literary works, watch films, and study the writings of Edward Said, Ngugi wa Thiong’o, Gayatri Spivak, Homi Bhabna, Robert Young and others.5
