PSYC 307 - Phenomenological Psychology

5 credit hours
Phenomenological psychology provides an alternative to the mainstream traditions that draw upon the approach and methods of natural sciences. It is founded on a philosophy that places experience at the center of the human struggle with freedom and responsibility, and studies human existence in a disciplined and open-ended way through reflection on descriptive data. The course addresses the theory (including philosophical foundation) of phenomenology and its contribution to research in areas such as human development and disturbed behavior as well as clinical practice. Prerequisite: PSYC 120, junior standing.
