PHYS 100 - From Quarks to the Cosmos2 credit hours A non-mathematical introduction to some of the most interesting aspects of contemporary physics. Topics include the nature of space and time, the fundamental constituents of matter, and the evolution of the universe from the big bang to the present epoch of accelerated expansion. Evaluation in the course is based on class participation, essay exams, and a term paper. Prerequisite or co-requisite: MATH 120 or equivalent. (fall)
