Engineering properties and classification of soils; compaction, permeability, effective stress concept, consolidation, settlements and time rate of settlements, shear strength of soils, strength measurements of soils, field investigation. Four lecture hours and one laboratory session per week. Prerequisites: CEEGR 221, CEEGR 331. (winter)
