BIOL 315 - Virology

5 credit hours

General aspects of viruses including structure, genetics and replication. Study will focus on relevant viruses important for understanding lifecycles,human and animal disease and immune system interactions. Broader implications such as vaccine development and gene therapy will be discussed. Four lecture hours and three laboratory hours per week. Prerequisites: BIOL 161/171, BIOL 162/172, BIOL 163/173 (all with C- or better). CHEM123/133. BIOL 240 recommended. (Spring)
