ART 212 - Survey of Western Art II: Renaissance through Modern

5 credit hours

Broad historical overview of the architecture, sculpture, painting, and decorative arts of the cultures of Europe and the Americas, beginning circa 1400 and continuing to the present. Attention will be given to developing skills of visual literacy; examining art historical methodologies; and exploring connections with history, philosophy, anthropology, theology, and other art forms. Experiential aspect of the course will include visits to local galleries and museums.
