STMM 509 - Deacon Studies III

Orientation, 10 weekends which include prayer, lecture, discussion, and liturgy. Topics covered: Hebrew and Christian Scriptures, Holy Spirit, Trinity, Spirituality of the Deacon, Catholic Social Teaching, Vatican II, Modern World and US Church History, Homiletics, Liturgical Service of Deacons, Records, Conflict Resolution, Management Skills, The Ecclesial Ministry of the Deacon, Baptism, Marriage, and Funerals. In addition to completing regular monthly assignments, students submit a 10-page synthesis of the year. Prerequisite: STMM 5083
