COUN 519 - Addictions Counseling

Provides an overview of addiction counseling. The focus is on providing the mental health therapist, school counselor, and other professionals the background and tools needed to recognize and begin the treatment of addiction. Etiology, assessment, diagnosis, drug classification and treatment models will be explored. Special topics, such as gambling, love, sex, and food addictions will be addressed.3
