PUBM 551 - International Health This course focuses on critical issues in public health. After a primer on how health is measured in populations (incorporating concepts from
both demographics and epidemiology), each class will examine substantive areas of international health (infectious diseases, nutrition, maternal
child health, chronic diseases, access to sanitation and water infrastructure, mental health, etc). In addition, each class will examine health
needs specific to certain geographic areas (Africa, Central America, South America, Asia, Eastern Mediterranean, etc.). Elective.3
